The Fondazione Ragghianti has published the General Index of the journal seleArte which was directed by Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti from 1952 to 1966. The General Index, published in hard copy, is supplied together with a CD-ROM. The Fondazione Ragghianti has completed the reprint of the entire collection of the journal seleArte in DVD format, thus enabling scholars and art lovers to consult the digitalised version of the pages of the journal. The DVD contains the entire collection, preserving the original display mode and graphic page layout adopted in the journal seleArte: 13 years, 78 issues, 64000 pages, over 400 colour plates, over 25.000 b/wh illustrations. The journal seleArte, published by Adriano Olivetti, who was at that time a publisher as well as an “enlightened” businessman, remains an unrivalled example of rigorous information which was at the same time open to the broader educated public in Italy. It should be kept in mind that in the 1950s and 1960s seleArte, which hosted no form of advertising linked to the world of art, reached a circulation of over 50.000 copies |
